Description:
The model of this mechanism, based on a drawing in the Codex Atlanticus, is made up of a toothed wheel which, set in motion by a crank and pinion, engages the vertical rack, enabling it to go up or down. This device, which transforms rotary motion into linear motion, is a substantial help for raising loads.
