A VIEW FROM WITHIN
robotics exhibition
In the exhibition space of the Museo Leonardiano in Montalbano street, a multimedia exhibition that lets you enter the mind of a ROBOT!
The exhibition, created by the Institute of Mechanical Intelligence at the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies in Pisa, offers a series integrated video-installations showing different levels of the cognitive and perceptual processes occuring inside a ROBOT's control computer during the execution of simple operation.
The visitor, physically situated inside in the visualization space of large continuous-flow videos, can experience firsthand, just as if he were inside the ROBOT, the processes that lead these machines to relate to the outside world: seeing, grasping simple objects. or interact with surrounding humans.
Inorder to enrich and make the perception more realistic, there is a sound accompaniment created by the composer Marina Tanakaby “capturing” the sounds produced by the robot when making a movement. Two static ROBOTS created by researchers from Sant'Anna School will also be ondisplay.
